C4 Referee Certification Course

Persons wishing to register as a referee must attend a course of instruction conducted under the jurisdiction of the Ontario Soccer Association. Upon successful completion, candidates shall be classified as Class 4 Referees.

Candidates must be not less than 13 years of age as of April 1st of the current year. Proof of age may be required at the time of application. Failure to adhere to the age policy will result in candidates being required to re-take the course of instruction.

A Class 4 Referee may only be a referee in a game involving a Youth Recreational or a Mini-Soccer team, and may be an Assistant Referee in a game involving two Youth Competitive teams. To maintain a Class 4 Referee classification, a referee must remain current by attending education programming, pay the annual fees as published by the Association, be in good standing and maintain registration each year.

Kanata Soccer will hold two C4 Referee Certification Courses during the winter/spring 2008.  They will be held April 5th - 6th (course full) and May 3rd - 4th.

Participants must be born before April 1st, 1995 . If you would like to take the course, please forward your full name, date of birth, phone number and e-mail address to the club referee coordinator. Each day of the course will consist of six hours for a total of twelve hours. Attendance to both days is mandatory to complete the course. The C4 course includes both in-class theory and on-field training so please come prepared for both. The following is a list of items to bring to the course in order to be prepared:

  1. Paper and pen;
  2. Cleats and shorts;
  3. Whistle;
  4. Referee flags;
  5. Referee cards;
  6. Lunch.

The registration fee for the clinic is $50 and must be paid in order to solidify a place in the course. Placement in each course will be assigned on a first come (paid) first serve basis. Payment may be submitted by cash, cheque (made out to Kanata Soccer) or Visa/MasterCard; however, credit card payments must be processed at the office.

If you have further questions please do not hesitate to contact the Referee Coordinator Vicki Lowe at 613-836-5787 or by email.
