Message from our President
I am very proud to welcome you to our first ever Kanata Soccer Player
Development Conference. We have some amazing speakers lined up, including
Silken Laumann, one of Canada’s most inspirational and beloved Canadian
athletes.
Our other guest speakers are Sean Fleming, Richard Way and Bob Bigelow,
each
an expert in their own field.
This is a great opportunity for us to showcase and promote Long-Term Player
Development. We at Kanata Soccer see LTPD becoming part of the mainstream
in sport and we are delighted to be at the forefront of that change.
Join us for
the ride – it’s an exciting time to be involved in amateur

Message from our Technical Director
Long-Term Player Development (LTPD) is a tool that will help Kanata Soccer
effect club-wide change and improvements. It is now becoming mainstream
practice in our nation and is not to be seen simply as a fleeting trend.
The
focus of LTPD is to create player-centred programs that are developmentally
appropriate in their content.
This conference is an opportunity for learning about the philosophies
and
practices of developing our members in a holistic and all encompassing
way –
the LTPD way. The first edition of this conference will begin by focusing
on
our youngest members – ages 4 to 9.
The line-up of speakers we have is first class and I am very proud and
honoured to have these individuals commit to attending this event and
share
their experiences with all of us. To me, it speaks volumes in showing
that our
direction here at Kanata is on the mark in this new age of amateur sport
programming. I look forward to sharing the LTPD journey with all of you.
