Kanata – Kanata Soccer Club Technical Director Joel MacDonald has announced he is leaving the club to accept a new position as the Technical Director of Prince George Youth Soccer Association.

“Over Joel’s five years with Kanata Soccer he has helped move the club to a leadership position in terms of our program development.”   Says Andrew Pope, President of Kanata Soccer.  “Joel is widely recognized as a national leader in the practice of Long Term Athlete Development.  The foundation he has started will continue to show benefits to the club for years to come.”

Under Joel’s leadership the club has progressively rolled out programs with a focus on skill development and building a strong love of the game.  He also worked at growing and strengthening the skill level of club coaches through regular training sessions and fostering a greater sense of joy in them by having them play soccer on a team of coaches.

The club would like to thank Joel for all his hard work and commitment and wish him great success in his new post.   Joel will be continuing with Kanata Soccer until September 30, 2010.

This year's Old Timers Tournament is scheduled for Saturday, September 25th. Registration is now open.  In the meantime - mark your calendars for September 25th.
